The Dentistry Scotland Awards hit record numbers this year, Seb Evans talks about how the night went.
It’s that time of year again, the nights are longer, everybody starts wearing more and more layers to keep warm, and dental teams around Scotland put their bowties and frocks on to celebrate the very best in Scottish dentistry.
It’s awards season and this year it was the Dentistry Scotland Awards that got the season started in style.
Held at the Marriot in Glasgow, the Dentistry Scotland Awards played host to over 270 guests, more than any other Dentistry Scotland Awards in its seven-year history.
The main event
Guests turned up in their smartest wear and were greeted with bagpipes being played at the door.
Inside there was a sparkling wine reception and a chance for the team to mingle with old friends and make new ones.
Included amongst the guests were Jim Gall, former deputy chief dental officer for Scotland, and Margie Taylor, current chief dental officer for Scotland.
Everybody was then lead by bagpipe-procession through to the main room for a delicious three-course meal followed by the main event – the awards ceremony.
